Mission Statement
The First United Methodist Church Mothers’ Group is an ecumenical
organization whose purpose is to provide education, support, and
friendship to mothers in the community. As women and mothers
we share delightful opportunities and challenges. The Mothers’ Group
provides different forums for members to share their experiences
and to learn from each other. We strive to extend
the FUMC missions, share a sense of mission and outreach with our
children, and foster a lifelong commitment to giving back to our
community.
We seek to develop a sense of community and offer opportunities
for personal growth and development through a wide range of activities
including:
- Mom’s Time - Speaker meetings on parenting
issues and topics of interest to women
- Community outreach projects
- Morning and Afternoon Playgroups
- Special events in the community for children
- Social activities for moms, couples, and families
- Helping Hands, a support network for members
in need
- A monthly newsletter

Our newsletter is a vital part of communication within our Mothers’ Group. The
newsletter is published and available on our website or via e-mail. It
details what is going on in the upcoming month. Each issue is full
of varying content including kid’s craft ideas, recipes,
outreach project summaries, member birthdays, birth announcements,
news and information from our members, member profiles, humorous
anecdotes, and a monthly calendar of Mothers’ Group events.
