Under the direction
of a full-time director, the Children and Youth Ministry at
First Church offers a full range of programs for infants through
high school. Nursery Care
Professional child care is provided during
the 10:30 am service and at other times, such as Adult Bible
Study, so parents can worship and participate fully in church
life knowing their children up to age 3 will be well cared for.
Adult volunteers keep the helper-child ratio small.
Sunday School
Classes for children and youth 3 years
old through grade are held during the 10:30 service. Most Sundays,
children attend the service, then leave after the Children's
sermon for Sunday school classes.

Youth Fellowship
FUMC offers a variety of social and educational
programs for middle- and senior-high schoolers.
Confirmation Classes
Confirmation Classes prepare 7th and
8th graders for full membership in the church. They
are taught every other year.
Acolyte Corps
The Acolyte Corps, made up of young people in Grades 7 through
12, assists the pastor in worship services.
The Children's Library
Here, the children of First Church can
find books and videos to help them grow in their faith.
Vacation Bible School
VBS is a week-long summer program open
to all children in the community ages 4 through Grade 4. Kids
can enjoy games, crafts, and music and more.
