FUMC Garden
Yup, that’s right. FUMC has started a garden! There is a need at local food banks and soup kitchens for more fresh fruits and vegetables, and we figured since we have so much land here at FUMC, why not use it to grow food for hungry people? But before we can get started, we need your help! From now until May 14th, we will be conducting a garden drive to collect the items and materials needed to start our project. Take a look at the list below, and consider giving some of your used items, or purchasing supplies as a donation.
- Materials to construct a raised bed (rot-resisted lumber is best)
- Large buckets for transporting compost (free from Scofield Recycling Center!)
- Garden hoes, gloves, and trowels
- Materials for fencing
- Materials for sign
- We will also soon begin collecting seedlings -- stay tuned for what kinds of plants we will need!
