About Rob Mathes

Rob Mathes is an arranger/composer, producer and songwriter best known for his work as a musical problem solver. He has been writing his own little brand of blues drenched spiritual Pop for years and yet has increasingly become known in the industry for other things.

Rob has an arrangement on the Grammy Winning "Genius Loves Company" by Ray Charles and is the musical director each year for The Kennedy Center Honors.

His Christmas Concerts, given just a few days before the 25th of December each year have spawned two PBS specials and garnered the appreciation of a wide audience.

The First at First at Four Concert Series in Stamford, Conn., is pleased to host Rob Mathes and Friends, who will perform a jazz concert in Stamford on Sunday, March 7, 2010 , at 4:00 p.m.  The concert will be held at The First United Methodist Church, 42 Cross Road, Stamford, Conn.  Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $15 for students and can be reserved by calling 203-324-1323.

The First at First at Four Concert Series provides a forum featuring prominent musical talent from the Fairfield County area and around the world to perform in an intimate, family-friendly setting.  Held at The First United Methodist Church in Stamford on the first Sunday of the month at 4:00 p.m., hence the name First at First at Four, the concert series is a beautiful venue that helps promote the arts in the area, while at the same time, raises funds for First United Methodist Church’s non-profit outreach programs.

Past concerts included Grammy award-winning jazz saxophonist Kirk Whalum, Grammy and Emmy nominated musician and music director Rob Mathes, Tony Award winner Melba Moore, TransJazz, a New Orleans jazz group The Riverboat Ramblers, Chris Coogan and the Good News Gospel Choir, Richard Cookie Thomas, the world-renown Ebony Ecumenical Ensemble, The Cypress Ensemble and jazz greats Jason Moran and Alicia Hall Moran.
